Gel Nail Manicure in NYC

With colder weather around the corner, we will all be preparing ourselves to bundle up.  While most of us will be wearing boots and gloves to stay warm, others are covering up to hide their nails!  Manicures often give under cold weather, chipping and fading more easily with the constant application of skin creams, manual labor like shoveling out our cars and pulling off and putting on mittens and gloves.  The average nail polish isn't made for winter, but gel nail manicures in NYC are tough, vibrate and long-lasting.

What are gel nails?
There are two types of gel nails: light cured and no-light gels.  NYC gel nails are pre-mixed polymer and monomer gel that is applied to the nails and then cured under ultra-violet lights to strengthen them.  Light cured gel nails are more common, but the advantage to no-light gel nails is that you'll spend little to no time waiting with your nails under the light.  Instead, no-light gel nails are cured with a special gel activator brushed or sprayed onto the nail.  Some no-light gel nails can even be cured by dipping them in water.

Why choose an NYC gel nail manicure?
• Gel nails often look more natural and glossy than other cosmetic nails.
• The curing time is faster than acrylics, typically taking just two minutes with light-curing.
• Gel nail mixtures are odorless.
• There is less filing involved during the application process.

Gel nails are an excellent alternative to other artificial nails.  They're long lasting and withstand everyday tasks while keeping your nails looking well maintained and attractive.  Gel nail manicures are also good for people with naturally brittle nails or who use their hands and fingers professionally.  Gel is more flexible than acrylic nails and never chip or crack.  Why take multiple trips to the salon?  Gel nails last much longer!
